Big Carp Fishing France

A beautifully restored farmhouse which comfortably sleeps 8 to 10 people and offers lakeside accommodation where you can catch Mirror and Common carp up to 47lbs. We also have a cat fish called “Pickles” caught at it’s biggest weight of 102lbs in March 2022. The lake is also stocked with some silver fish so you can also enjoy a days course fishing. La Bourgonniere is a premier venue and makes an ideal fishing holiday in France for your family and friends.

Location

La Bourgonniere is situated in the traditional village of Hambers which is around 20 minutes from the town of Mayenne, approximately 2 hours drive from Le Harve, Caen, St Malo and just over 4 hours from Calais. Dinard Airport is also only a few hours away. So, you have the option to fly or drive whichever suits you best.

Carp Fishing

The lake is approximately two acres in size and has two purpose built double swims both positioned in front of the house allowing you to enjoy your lunch on the patio without having to reel in your rods. Along with the many lake features, a willow tree sits on a central island, depths range from 3ft to 10ft with silt, clay and gravel areas. The average Carp weight in 2021 was over 32lbs. The lake has no bream, no poison chat or crayfish.

Owners

The owners, Adrian & Beatrice, have traveled to France on family Carp Fishing Holidays for many years and now feel that they have used their experience to create the perfect family venue for Carp Fishing in France. Lakeside accommodation, luxury facilities, beautiful peaceful location and of course some big carp, La Bourgonniere really does have everything you could ask for.

Entertainment

We have free Wi-Fi, English Satellite TV, a DVD Player, and even an XBox. We also have lots of films and games.

Relax

Outdoors there’s a Jacuzzi on the patio, BBQ, Sun Loungers and a table with chairs. The lake is so close that you don’t even have to reel in to enjoy them!

The house is very spacious and is set up to comfortably accommodate up to 8-10 people. There’s a large kitchen which is well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine.

We didn’t catch as many fish as we did before but we did manage to get “Steve” the sturgeon on the bank on our last evening which made the week! “Just got back from a fantastic stay at La Bourgonniere with my family. Beautiful house with a gorgeous lake in an excellent location. Great fishing for a stock of pristine carp. Early morning wildlife also amazing. I saw wild deer on the bank of the lake, red squirrels, hedgehogs outside the bivvy and kingfishers landing on the rods. Loads to see and do in the local area. I’d recommend it to anyone.”

Fantastic family venue the kids loved it especially the hot tub!! House is exceptional by far the most luxury I have been too on this type of holiday. Fishing was made hard by the high temperatures and pressure but still managed 34 fish to 36lb between the two of us nearly all stalked during the day and countless roach. Would have booked again but unfortunately fully booked when we want to go.

We had such a wonderful time here over half term. The most beautiful accommodation in a really peaceful setting, with great fishing. The whole family really enjoyed our stay and the hot tub is a massive bonus! 15 fish in the week, from 25lb up to 35lb. Not to mention lots of little perch and roach caught by the kids! We’ll be back!

A beautiful place! Well balanced for families and fishermen! The house was luxury and the location, perfect. An easy drive from the port at Caen, surrounded by peaceful countryside but within minutes’ drive to local amenities and the town of Mayenne 20 minutes away.

We enjoyed a fantastic week – the lake is immaculately maintained and every carp caught was a stunner! Not to mention the illusive Catfish, an absolutely beauty!

We were already planning our return visit before our week was up! Can’t wait to get back there! Thank you Adrian & Bea!

I have to give la bourgonniere 5 star because thats the maximum it will go too. If i could id give it 100 stars. A beautiful house with a well stocked lake in a stunning and peaceful area. I cant find one fault and wish i could keep this place all to myself lol. Me and my wife stayed here for a week. I had 20 fish biggest 41.5lb, 11 30’s . Rest mid to high 20 and this is in october. If you want luxury accomadation and a well stocked lake this is the place. Thank you bea and ade
